Mary's service to me as my doula was beyond professional—it was heroic. She coached me into finding strength and calm that I never thought I was capable of. And when I wasn't so strong and calm anymore, after nearly 36 hours of labor with her at my side every step of the way, Mary found the perfect words and the perfect way to help me finish bringing our son into the world. I know without a doubt that I would not have made it without her. The success of my VBAC was entirely due to her educated direction, intervention, and support. She is knowledgeable and experienced, she has the patience of a saint, and she has this "way" about her that only comes from someone that was made for this type of work. Our family will forever be indebted to this amazing woman.

Mary Bader was our postpartum doula after the birth of our twins Flynn and Lula. She was nurturing, caring and amazingly supportive to both me and the twins. When I had my second baby in under two years right at the time that my husband was opening a new business, I was concerned that I would be able to provide good care to both babies without any support. I hired Mary because she was registered with the national doula organization, because she had wonderful referrals, and because I liked her the minute I met her. I also liked her own children when I met them, and that was important to me. Her own children are very warm, friendly, and well-adjusted, and that said a lot to me about the kind of caregiver Mary is.

Mary came to my house every day to give me a chance to nap, and I felt very comfortable entrusting my precious babies to her care. She is very warm and caring, and both of my children took to her very well. In addition to caring for the children, she helped with household chores. It was wonderful to wake up from a nap expecting to have to unload the dishwasher, only to find that both children were napping, and the dishwasher was empty. Mary worked vey hard while she was here, and she provided excellent care to my babies. Mary also helped take care of me. She listened as I unloaded my postpartum, hormonal tears, and she gave me great advice about how to calm my crying infant and how to help my toddler accept him. Mary's involvement with my family continued even after we stopped using her doula services. She continues to check in with us months later to see how we're doing, and she even came to my daughter's second birthday party.

I really trust Mary and am very grateful to her for providing such wonderful care for all of us as we transitioned to being a family of four. She did an excellent job, and I recommend her highly.
